Little Red Riding Hood - Ever After Lesson #5

I am a great admirer of Micki Wilde, who has illustrated Little Red Riding Hood. I have in the best way tried to reproduce the colors and Micki's techniques. It was a good experience to get the wolf painted in the picture, and I do not usually have animals in the things I do. So it was a challenge to participate in this Ever After course and it was bewitching to see the forest emerge when I continued to paint and go in depth in my painting.

Thanks for visiting my blog, I wish you a good day.

Jack & the Beanstalk - Ever After Lesson #7

Carla Sonheim, Jack & the Beanstalk.
Thanks Carla Sonheim for a fun tale of the giant who ended up becoming a librarian. It was a good experience with the many layers it did the artwork became more vivid. The technique was fun, there were many layers and it all looked in the beginning not so good, but my Jack and the beanstalk finished with a result which I'm really happy with.

Sleeping Beauty - Ever After Lesson #4

Jane Davenport has illustrated Sleeping Beauty. I often use watercolor more in the intuitive way, either as a background or colored my objects. This lesson is just the opposite. It was hard to start drawing with watercolor used as a pencil so I was unsure how the different objects should be placed. I have the book Beautiful FACES with Jane and it was a big help too.

Thanks for visiting my blog, I wish you a good day.

The Handless Maiden - Ever After Lesson #6

Galia Alena painted The Handless Maiden. It is an incredibly good way to make a deep and intensive background, unfortunately my final background was darker than it should be, but I would not change it as things went beyond the depth. The beauty of acrylic color is that you can constantly go in and straighten what you dislike.

Thanks for visiting my blog, I wish you a good day.

Old Grandfather Clock - SanDee&amelie's Steampunk Challenges - September 2016

I have a great die of an old clock that I never ever used. Now I have finally found an opportunity. So I made a box that could be decorated inside and outside.

As a child when I was visiting my grandparents, I thought that the clock strucked and ticked, and I was afraid for the next chime. It was almost like the wall quivered and the clock was almost alive.

The entire box was painted black to start with. Then I gave all surfaces the cracking paint, and when it was dry box was painted blue and titan buff. The last layer was painted with quinacridone gold.

I have used:
DecoArt media Gesso Black
DecoArt media  Fluid Acrylics Titan Buff and Quinacridone Gold
DecoArt Metallic Lustre Brilliant Turquoise
Americana Weathered Wood Crakle Medium
DecoArt Crafters Acrylic Brilliant Blue

Die, charms dial and gem from my stash.

Come and join us on SanDee&amelie's Steampunk Challenges in September and win great prizes!

Thanks for visiting my blog I wish you a good day.
